Bruichladdich 1965 15 Year Old Royal Wedding 1981 Decanter / Moon Import
Moon Import was founded by Pepi Mongiardino in 1980. This was officially bottled, exclusively for Mongiardino. He became the Bruichladdich distributor in the early 1980s, and imported their whisky for 5 years before selling the contract to Rinaldi. Bottled in a commemorative decanter in 1981, to celebrate the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana Spencer. Two bottles are shown; one has a label neck tie although the stopper on this bottle is different to the second bottle.

Bruichladdich 15 Year Old Samaroli’s Collection / Mayflower ‘80
This was an official bottling for Silvano Samaroli. As the official Bruichladdich distributor in the early 1980s, this was imported to Italy for Samaroli by his friend, Pepi Mongiardino. This is a 15 year old in a stoneware decanter depicting the Mayflower departing Plymouth in 1620, with her sails set for “The New World.”
This decanter was bottled in 1980 to celebrate the 360th anniversary of the event. One of 1,000 bottles.

Nb. this bottle on the ‘type of seal’ section, shows a (*1). Alongside bottle no.s 2 & 7 from the Ceramic Decanters listed in the ‘Late 1980’s ‘ section, they all have what appears to be a factory fitted clear plastic seal. Possibly they were a sample set ? – any extra clarity would be welcome. They were all bought together (in a lot of 3) at the same time.
