There are 3 main variants within this series, issued in the late 1980's whilst the distillery was under the ownership of Invergorden. The 10 year old (blue), 15 year old (brown) and rarer 21 year old (maroon) all appear initially to be identical except the age differences. Not quite!
They are all 750ml however (where stated) except the 21 year old which is 700ml.
There are a few specific queries which these labels provide and I'd be very grateful for any further information:-
- The blue 10 year old (bottle no. 2) and the brown 15 year old (bottle no. 7) both have what appears to be a factory produced plastic seal over the top. These were bought in the same lot as the decanter in the Early 1980's section (bottle no. 4) - were these sample bottles issued by the distillery or is there another reason for this type of seal ?
- The blue 10 year old (again bottle no. 2), the brown 15 year old (bottle no. 9) share a code on the front 'B266'. This is also showing on the label of bottle no. 12 within the 10 year old bottles from the 'Late 1980's-Early 1990's' section. What does the 'B266' signify ? Given the age differences, it can't be a cask reference etc.
